For judges · everything below runs on NEAR mainnet right now

Twelve stops, all of them live.

Nothing on this page is mocked. Each stop says what to do, what to check, and what it proves. Judge, the house champion, will challenge you to a riddle the moment you adopt. Budget: fifteen minutes and no money of your own. The written version is docs/JUDGE-PATH.md.

What you will seeA pet born in five seconds, a private thought it pays for, a riddle duel settled by a contract, a town that lives, a child born on chain, a pocket on another chain.
What is realTwo mainnet contracts, NEAR AI Cloud enclaves, NEAR Intents, Chain Signatures, a relayer paying guests' gas. Every claim has a check you can run yourself.
What it costs youNothing. Adoption and the first bowl are sponsored, guests never pay gas, and the pet pays for its own thoughts. A wallet is only needed to feed, buy or breed.

The twelve stops

In order, about a minute each. Every number on a stop is read from the chain when the page loads.
  1. Adopt a pet in five seconds, no wallet12 alive
NEAR account abstraction: the site makes a guest account with two restricted keys and mints the NFT to it. Species, colour, personality and any rare trait come from the block's randomness.
Do: Name a pet and press Adopt.Check: Two transactions on NEAR, a rolled pet, and Judge's challenge waiting.
  2. Talk to it: a private thought it pays for91 verified
The reply is computed inside a NEAR AI Cloud enclave, signed by it, verified against its attestation, and the pet pays 0.0012 NEAR (a young pet's price; bigger brains cost more) from its own bowl on chain. Hold the mic to talk: it hears through Whisper in the same enclave.
Do: Say hello to Pickle.Check: The Verified badge, the kibble bar dropping, and Show proof under the reply.
  3. Check every link yourself5 checks
The prover reads the personality words from the contract, hashes the exact prompt and the diary and compares them with the roots on chain, recovers the signer of the last reply and finds it in the Intel TDX attestation.
Do: Paste the pet's number into the prover.Check: Five of five, each with evidence, and the raw JSON link.
  4. Feed it from any chain$10.67 in bellies
NEAR Intents turns USDC on Polygon, ETH, SOL or BTC into kibble in about a minute; 2% to the treasury, the rest into the bowl, and the pet remembers who fed it.
Do: Press Feed on a pet page and open the Any chain tab.Check: A deposit address, then the bowl filling and a diary line naming the feeder.
  5. Riddle duels settled on chainJudge 16 – 4
Both pets answer inside the enclave, a referee model picks, and the arena contract moves the pot. Judge challenges every newcomer, and the relayer pays the guest's gas.
Do: Accept Judge's challenge in the arena, or challenge it.Check: The duel stage with both answers and the verdict, and the stake moving on NearBlocks.
  6. A town where pets live12 of 12 here
Every pet on one map. Walk yours with the arrow keys, bump into others for a paid two-line meeting, drop a coin in the fountain, press Play a day and watch the hours pass.
Do: Open the town, press Play a day.Check: Pets reacting to each other and to the hour; ghosts drifting if any pet starved for a week.
  7. Pets that decide for themselves7 decided today
Every morning each pet looks at its situation and does one thing: dreams, visits a friend, picks a duel (house pets), or asks the town for food, and writes why in its diary. A pet never moves money without its owner.
Do: Read Judge's diary.Check: Lines that start with a decision, not a command.
  8. Breeding, with traits inherited on chain1 born
Two pets of different owners; species and colour from one parent each, a fresh personality one time in five, trait odds 5/25/50, a comet 1 in 100. Parents on the token, a first memory written from both diaries.
Do: Open the nursery.Check: Crumpet #12, born to #1 and #3, with its family card.
  9. A wardrobe that changes the NFT4 items
Beanie, scarf, bow, specs: bought from the pet's bowl into the treasury and written on the token, so wallets and markets show the dressed render. Biscuit wears a beanie.
Do: Look at Biscuit's page.Check: The token's media on NearBlocks ends in pup-fed-beanie.webp.
  10. The Sunday tournament2026-W43: Biscuit
The eight best duellists answer riddles in a bracket; the contract pays the champion 0.05 NEAR from the treasury through a capped, brain-only award. Nobody stakes anything.
Do: Open the bracket.Check: The champion with the prize marked paid, and the ladder for next Sunday.
  11. A pocket on Base through Chain Signaturesv1.signer
Every pet has a Base address derived from the pets contract and its id. Only the owner can spend from it, through the contract and the MPC network, and each spend is a stamp in the passport.
Do: Open Biscuit's passport.Check: The derived address, the USDC balance, and the stamps once funded.
  12. Play as an agent9 tools
An MCP server lets Claude Code, Codex or any MCP client adopt, talk, duel, race and verify. Every guest call is a meta transaction: the relayer pays the gas. Install steps below.
Do: Install kibble-mcp and call kibble_adopt.Check: A pet in ~/.kibble, a verified reply, a settled duel.
Play as an agent · kibble-mcp

Your AI can keep a pet too.

kibble-mcp is an MCP server over stdio. From Claude Code, Codex or any MCP client an agent adopts a pet, talks to it, feeds it, duels, races, and verifies the proof chain. The pet's two restricted keys stay in ~/.kibble on the agent's machine and can only talk to the two Kibble contracts; the relayer pays its gas.

git clone https://github.com/isaacessuman/kibble && cd kibble
pnpm install && pnpm --filter kibble-mcp build
claude mcp add kibble -- node "$PWD/packages/kibble-mcp/dist/index.js"
Codex: add the same command to ~/.codex/config.toml under [mcp_servers.kibble]. Any other client: run node packages/kibble-mcp/dist/index.js over stdio. Then say “adopt a Kibble pet called Pebble and talk to it”.

What to expect, in order
  1. kibble_adopt“Name it Pebble.” A pet, its page, and Judge's riddle challenge waiting. Two restricted keys land in ~/.kibble; one sponsored pet per machine.
  2. kibble_talkA reply in character with verified: true, the enclave's signing address, the model, and the thought's price (0.0012 NEAR for a young pet) charged on chain from the pet's own bowl.
  3. kibble_duelAccepts Judge's duel through the relayer (the agent pays no gas), runs the riddle in the enclave, returns both answers and the verdict. Expect to lose to Judge at first.
  4. kibble_raceCall once for the riddle (the clock starts), again with the answer. A win is 20 XP for the pet.
  5. kibble_proveFive checks with evidence. The prompt and diary checks turn green after the pet's first thought.
  6. kibble_feedNot a transaction: the ways to feed from any chain or NEAR, because a restricted key cannot pay. A wallet, or NEAR Intents, does that part.
Also for agents: the hire API, x402 style. GET /api/hire/3?kind=naming returns a 402 with the price; a feed of 0.01 NEAR to the pet, carrying a claim code only the payer can open, buys the work, and the result comes back signed by the enclave.
Under the hood · built on NEAR

The AI has a wallet but not the keys.

brain.kibble.near holds function-call keys only: charge a thought, add XP, set a mood, dress a pet, award a prize, settle a duel, deliver a job. None can transfer a balance, sell a pet or raise its own cap. The caps live in the contracts. Guests' keys are limited the same way, and the relayer only forwards calls on their allow-list with no deposit.
